Most of what TrueFix Pittsburgh knows about you is what you told us to get an appliance fixed: your name, how to reach you, where the appliance is and what it was doing. You can ask us about that information and have a say in what happens to it.

As of the date above, Pennsylvania had not passed a general consumer data privacy law of the kind some other states have, although lawmakers in Harrisburg have been considering one. We don't think you should have to wait for that. We honor the requests on this page for any customer or anyone who has contacted us, whichever state they live in.

Requests we accept

  • See it. Ask whether we have information about you, what it is and how we got it.
  • Fix it. Have us correct an old phone number, a misspelled name, a wrong address or anything else that is inaccurate.
  • Get a copy. Receive what you gave us in an ordinary electronic file you can open.
  • Delete it. Have us erase your information. Some records, such as invoices and warranty details, may have to stay for tax, accounting or legal reasons, and our answer will say which ones.
  • Stop contact. Be removed from our email and text lists. A STOP reply to any text we send takes care of the texts on its own.

Making a request won't change how we treat you or what we charge. There are also a few things you don't need to ask for: we don't sell personal information, we don't use it for targeted advertising, and we don't make automated decisions about people with it.

How to ask

Call, email or write to us using the details below and tell us which request you are making. Before we hand over or change anything, we need to be reasonably sure the request comes from you, so we will usually match it against the phone number or email address we already have on file. You can also name another person to act for you, as long as you give them written permission.

We try to answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we will let you know before then and say why. Requests are free.

If you are not satisfied

Where we can't do all of what you asked, we will explain the reason. Reply to that explanation and we will take a second look and send you a written decision. You may also contact the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection, which takes consumer complaints through its online complaint page.
