Bosch Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Bosch built its American reputation on dishwashers, and those remain most of what we see from the brand, alongside compact laundry and a growing number of induction ranges and counter-depth refrigerators. We repair Bosch independently and are not part of the Bosch service network. A unit still covered by the Bosch warranty belongs with Bosch first; once it's outside that coverage, we diagnose it at your home and quote before starting.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

BSH and its family of badges
Bosch home appliances are made by BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, a Munich company wholly owned by the Bosch Group since 2015, when Bosch bought out Siemens' half. BSH also owns Thermador and Gaggenau, so a Bosch shares design ideas and some parts with those higher-priced brands.
Much of what is sold in the United States is built here. BSH has long run a plant in New Bern, North Carolina, that produces dishwashers and cooking appliances for the American market.
Where Bosch fits in local housing
Renovated kitchens are Bosch territory: a gutted rowhouse in Lawrenceville, a remodeled foursquare in Highland Park, or a new kitchen in a Mt. Lebanon Colonial. The dishwasher is almost always the first Bosch in the house, and a counter-depth fridge or slide-in induction range often follows.
The 24-inch compact washer and dryer solve a real problem in older buildings. They stack in a closet or kitchen corner in a converted duplex, or go into a tight second-floor laundry nook where a full-size pair would never fit up the stairs.
Engineering choices that shape a repair
Bosch dishwashers dry by condensation, not a big heating element, and many use a combined pump and heater. They also watch for leaks through a float in the base pan and stop with a code when it trips, so an error message is the start of the diagnosis, not the whole answer.
Compact Bosch dryers are usually condensation or heat-pump designs with no outside vent. They trade vent problems for a condenser and a water path that need attention. Across the lineup, parts are ordered by the E-Nr and FD numbers on the rating plate, which pin down the exact production version.
Bosch, product by product
- Refrigerators: Counter-depth French-door and bottom-freezer refrigerators, plus Benchmark built-in columns. Ice makers, water valves, fan motors, defrost faults and door hinges are frequent work.
- Washers: 24-inch compact front-load washers in the 300, 500 and 800 Series, plus older full-size Nexxt and Vision models. Drain pumps, door locks, bearings and boards are the usual repairs.
- Dryers: Compact condensation and heat-pump dryers, often stacked with the matching washer. Clogged condensers, condensate pumps, lint build-up, sensors and drum belts cause most calls.
- Dishwashers: 100 through 800 Series and Benchmark dishwashers, many with CrystalDry. Drain faults, AquaStop leak trips, heater-pump failures, hinge cables and door latches are the common calls.
- Ovens: Single and double wall ovens, speed ovens and steam convection ovens, including Benchmark models. Elements, convection fans, cooling fans, door locks and sensors are what typically fail.
- Microwaves: Over-the-range, built-in and microwave drawer models. Door switches, magnetrons, drawer motors, touch panels and vent fans are the usual faults on these units.
- Freezers: Bottom-freezer drawers in French-door models and built-in column freezers. Ice makers, defrost heaters, fans, sensors and drawer rails are the parts most often replaced.
- Cooktops: Induction, gas and radiant electric cooktops in 30- and 36-inch sizes. Induction power boards, cooling fans, gas igniters, spark modules and touch controls fail most often.
- Stoves: Bosch ranges sold here are mainly slide-in designs, the appliance most people call the stove. Igniters, elements, oven sensors, surface burners and door locks are common repairs.
- Ranges: Gas, electric, induction and dual-fuel slide-in ranges with front controls. Induction modules, touch panels, convection fans, oven igniters and sensors account for most repairs.
Getting Bosch parts
BSH runs its own parts operation for Bosch, backed by a few distributors, and many wear items are shared with Thermador and Gaggenau. Stock is generally good for dishwashers, since so many are installed, while boards for compact laundry and some refrigerator and oven parts can take longer to arrive. We identify parts using the E-Nr and FD numbers on the rating plate, confirm availability during the diagnosis and tell you if a part is an equivalent.
Bosch: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Open the door and look along the side or top edge of the inner door. The plate lists an E-Nr (the model) and an FD number (production date code). A photo of both helps us order the right part.
Dishwasher parts are widely stocked. Some laundry, refrigerator and oven parts ship from the manufacturer or a single distributor and can take longer. We confirm availability for your exact version before you approve the repair.
Contact Bosch first. We aren't a Bosch service provider, and covered repairs go through their network. Once the warranty has ended, we can diagnose and repair it.
Often it is. The tub and racks hold up well, and most failures are a pump, sensor, hinge part or board rather than something structural. We'll look at its overall condition before recommending a repair.
