For homeowners, renters & landlords
Home Appliance Repair in Pittsburgh
The fridge in the kitchen, the washer in the basement, the range your family has cooked on for years. A technician comes to the house, works out what failed, and quotes the repair. Whether it goes ahead is up to you.
- Houses, rowhomes, duplexes and apartments
- Basement laundry and upstairs kitchens
- Gas and electric, freestanding and built-in
- Renters book, landlords approve
Two quick steps: what's wrong and where you are. We'll be in touch to set a time.
What Happens When We Come to Your Home
- 1
Book it
Call or use the form. Let us know the make, what it's doing wrong and, if the label is readable, the model number.
- 2
Diagnosis at home
We test the machine and its hookups (outlet, water valve, drain, vent or gas line) until the failed part is pinned down.
- 3
Explanation and price
You learn what failed and what the repair costs. Renting? The quote can go straight to your landlord.
- 4
Repaired and run
Once you approve, the part goes in and the appliance runs while the technician is still there.
Your House Is Part of the Job
Where an appliance sits, and how it's hooked up, often explains why it failed. These are the kinds of homes we see most around Pittsburgh and what each one means on the day.
Brick rowhouses and older city homes
Across neighborhoods like Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Polish Hill and the North Side, the washer and dryer usually live in the basement. Expect us to ask about the stairs, the headroom and how the washer drains, whether into a laundry tub, a standpipe or a floor drain.
Foursquares and Victorians
Big old houses in places like Shadyside, Friendship and Allegheny West often have a remodeled kitchen on top of much older wiring, gas lines and venting. We check what feeds the appliance, not just the appliance.
Suburban split-levels and ranches
In Penn Hills, Plum, Baldwin and the North Hills, laundry may sit in a lower level or off the garage, and a second fridge in an unheated garage is common. That spare fridge can quit in deep cold without anything being broken.
Hillside houses and tight streets
On the Slopes, in Mount Washington and on plenty of other steep blocks, the front door may be up a flight of steps and parking may be by permit. Tell us where to park and which door to use.
Renting, or renting one out
Tenants in apartments, duplexes and student houses can book the visit themselves. Give us your landlord's or property manager's contact, and we'll send them the diagnosis and the price. Nothing is repaired until the person paying approves it. Landlords with several units can book for any of them, as long as someone can let us in.
More on specific faults is in our repair guides.

Questions About Home Repairs
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Yes. We need an adult on site to open up and to say yes to the price before any work. When a tenant will be there instead of the owner, tell us beforehand who signs off on repairs and how we can reach them.
We lay floor protection before moving anything. Before a dishwasher or a fridge with a water line comes out, the supply is shut off and the line drained; before a gas appliance is disconnected, its gas is turned off.
Yes. List every appliance when you book so the visit is long enough. Each one is priced separately, and you decide which repairs to approve.
Yes. We don't sell appliances at all, only repair them, so it makes no difference where you bought it. If a previous repair used the wrong part, you'll hear about it.
Book the visit and tell us who will provide access, whether that is you, a tenant or a property manager, and who approves the cost. The technician diagnoses the appliance with whoever is there and gets the price approved before any work starts.
Yes. When a repair is out of proportion to the appliance's age and condition, we say so plainly. Built-in refrigerators, wall ovens and pro-style ranges usually justify more effort, since replacing them often means cabinet work as well.
Yes. While the manufacturer's warranty is in force, repairs normally go through the maker's own service network, and paying an independent company could complicate a claim. Check the purchase date on your receipt or the brand's website. Once that coverage has ended, we can take it from there.
Look for a sticker or small metal plate. On refrigerators it is usually on an inside wall of the fresh-food section or near the crisper drawers; on dishwashers, along the side or top edge of the door; on ranges and ovens, behind the storage drawer or on the frame around the oven door; on washers and dryers, under the lid, around the door opening or on the back panel. A clear phone photo is perfect.
Ready to get it fixed?
Send the make, the model and a line on what's wrong. Mention the basement stairs or the parking situation too, if either applies.
