Allegheny County

Look up your ZIP code

Type a ZIP code such as 15217 or 15228, or part of an area name like Bellevue, Brookline or Penn Hills, then open its page.

41 ZIP codes in 12 service areas.

City neighborhoods, boroughs and townships

Allegheny County is made up of 130 municipalities, and the City of Pittsburgh is just one of them. That shapes how our areas are named. 4 of our 12 areas sit entirely inside the city: Downtown, Strip District & Uptown; Oakland & Shadyside; East Liberty, Squirrel Hill & the East End and The North Side.

The other 8 are made up of, or include, boroughs and townships that run their own affairs: places like Dormont, Wilkinsburg, Millvale, Bellevue and Plum, plus Mt. Lebanon, which is a township. Some of those areas also take in city neighborhoods. The South Hills area, for example, pairs Beechview and Brookline, both in the city, with the borough of Dormont.

Finding your page

Your ZIP code is the quickest route. Put it in the search box above and it opens that ZIP's page, which names the neighborhoods or towns inside it. From there, the area page covers what we run into locally, and links to a page for each appliance we repair there.

Don't go by the name on your mail alone. Many ZIP codes here cross municipal lines, so an address marked “Pittsburgh, PA” can be in a borough, and one ZIP can hold parts of two or three towns. If you're unsure which area you belong to, the ZIP decides.

Getting to your door

A few details at booking help the visit start on time. On hillside streets, tell us if the house is up a flight of steps or reached from an alley. In neighborhoods with permit parking, say where a work van can stop. For apartments, let us know about buzzers, a building manager, or a basement laundry room that needs a key.

Once we're inside, the visit goes the same everywhere: the technician diagnoses the appliance, explains what failed, and quotes the repair. The work waits for your yes. Send a photo of the model-number label with your request if you can. It gives us a better chance of bringing the right part.

Houses, Apartments and Rentals Around Pittsburgh

Everything we cover is listed on this page, area by area and ZIP by ZIP, each with a link to its own page. If your ZIP isn't here, send a request anyway and ask. We'll tell you plainly whether we can get to you.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
