Perlick Wine Cooler Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Perlick and are not one of its service centers. A wine cooler still covered by the Perlick warranty belongs with Perlick first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Wine Cooler Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Perlick builds its wine coolers

Perlick wine reserves are usually built in, with one or two zones controlled by separate sensors and, on dual-zone units, fans and dampers or separate cooling paths that keep the zones apart. When one zone drifts, we check the sensor and fan in that zone before the sealed system, because a single failed fan can leave one section warm while the other holds fine. Glass doors add a condensation issue in humid basements or summer air, which is often a gasket or door alignment problem rather than a cooling one. Like Perlick's refrigerators, these units exhaust through the front grille, so blocking it with a toe kick or rug will make both zones struggle.

Parts that tend to fail on Perlick wine coolers

  • One zone warm while the other holds
  • Zone fan noisy or seized
  • Condensation on the glass door
  • Temperature sensor reading wrong
  • Worn gasket letting warm air in

The general wine cooler repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Perlick Wine Cooler: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

When only one zone drifts, a fan, damper or sensor in that zone is the usual cause, since the zones share one compressor. We test that zone's components before looking at refrigeration.

Humid air meeting cold glass will fog it, especially in a damp basement. If it's persistent, a worn gasket or a door that doesn't close flush lets moist air in. We check the seal and alignment.
