U-Line Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
U-Line is one of the names you find under a bar top or in a kitchen island, doing a small job quietly until it stops. We repair U-Line units as an independent company with no factory service arrangement. A unit still under U-Line's warranty should be claimed through the maker first; once it's out, we come diagnose it in place and quote before any work.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

U-Line Products We Service
An undercounter specialist
U-Line began in Milwaukee in the early 1960s and built its business on compact, built-in refrigeration and ice machines. It has been part of Middleby, the commercial and residential kitchen equipment group, since 2017, alongside brands like Viking.
The product line is narrow on purpose: undercounter refrigerators and freezers, refrigerator drawers, beverage centers, wine captains and clear-ice machines, including outdoor models. Around Pittsburgh they turn up in finished basement bars, kitchen islands in remodeled homes, home theaters and outdoor kitchens on patios.
Small cabinets, specific failures
A built-in unit has to breathe through its front grille, so blocking it is the easiest way to make a U-Line run warm. After that, fans, sensors and controls account for many calls, along with door hinges and gaskets on units whose doors take a lot of use.
The clear-ice machines are their own category. They make cubes by running water over a chilled plate, and mineral scale, drain problems and water supply issues cause most of their service calls.
Cold rooms and outdoor units
A unit in a cold basement or an outdoor kitchen may behave differently from one in a heated room. The manual for each model lists the ambient temperatures it's built for and what to do in freezing weather. Ice machines with water lines are especially vulnerable, and we check for freeze damage after a cold snap before replacing parts.
U-Line, product by product
- Refrigerators: Undercounter refrigerators, drawers and beverage centers, indoor and outdoor. Common calls: warm cabinet from a blocked grille, fan failures, control faults, sagging doors and worn gaskets.
- Ice Makers: Clear-ice machines, with gravity drain or drain pump. Typical calls: no ice, thin or slow production, scale on the evaporator, and drain pump failures.
- Wine Coolers: Wine captains and dual-zone wine refrigerators. Calls usually concern a zone drifting warm, fans, condensation on glass and door seals.
Getting U-Line parts
U-Line parts are available through the brand and appliance parts distributors, and Middleby ownership has kept the line supported. Fans, sensors, gaskets, hinges and drain pumps are generally obtainable by model and serial number, while older control boards may be harder to find. We confirm the part during the visit and let you know how long it should take.
U-Line: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
U-Line has been part of the Middleby Corporation since 2017. Parts and service support continue through the brand, and we order by the model and serial number on your unit.
Check the front grille for dust or anything blocking it, since that's where the unit vents. If it's clear, a fan, sensor or door seal is the next thing to test.
Check the owner's manual for your model's ambient range and cold-weather instructions. Freezing temperatures are hardest on ice machines and anything connected to a water line.
