Electrolux Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Electrolux is a Swedish company, and in North America it also owns Frigidaire. The Electrolux-badged line sold here sits above Frigidaire and shares a lot of engineering with Frigidaire's upper models, from refrigerator sealed systems to dishwasher pumps and range components. For repair, that overlap is useful: fault patterns are well known and many parts are common across both names. We work on Electrolux appliances as an independent company. If yours is still covered by the maker's warranty, go through Electrolux first.
How a Repair Visit Works

Electrolux Products We Service
Where Electrolux turns up
Electrolux is a common choice in kitchen and laundry updates that stop short of built-in luxury brands. Around Allegheny County we see it in remodeled kitchens in Mt. Lebanon and Dormont houses, in suburban split-levels in the North Hills, in newer townhouses, and in apartments where a landlord bought a matched set.
The laundry pair is often in the basement. On older city houses that means narrow stairs, low joists and a laundry tub for the drain, all of which matter when a front-loader has to be pulled out or a pump reached.
Shared engineering with Frigidaire
Many Electrolux refrigerators, ranges and dishwashers come off platforms that Frigidaire's Gallery and Professional lines also use. Controls, finishes and features differ, but compressors, fans, igniters, elements, pumps and ice maker assemblies often have the same part numbers or close relatives.
We still order by the full model and serial number, because Electrolux has revised parts within a model's life and a close match isn't always the right one.
Front-loaders in basements
Electrolux front-load washers are sensitive to how they are set up. A machine on an uneven or springy floor walks and bangs in spin, and a drain hose pushed too far into a standpipe can siphon. In damp basements the door boot and detergent drawer grow mildew faster.
In winter, a supply hose or drain line along a cold foundation wall can freeze. A washer that won't fill on a January morning sometimes has nothing wrong with it at all, and we check that before replacing a valve.
Electrolux, product by product
- Refrigerators: French-door, counter-depth and side-by-side models, plus ICON built-in columns. Frequent calls: ice maker jams and frost in the door ice compartment, fan noise, defrost failures and water dispenser leaks.
- Washers: Front-load washers with steam and detergent pre-mixing, usually paired with a matching dryer. We fix door locks, drain pumps, torn door boots, bearing noise and error-code shutdowns.
- Dryers: Electric and gas vented dryers with steam and sensor dry. Common repairs are igniters and gas valve coils, heating elements, thermal fuses, drum rollers and belts, and moisture sensors.
- Dishwashers: Built-in dishwashers with stainless tubs. Typical faults include drain pump blockages, wash motor failures, float switch trips, door latch problems and control faults.
- Ovens: Single and double wall ovens and wall oven/microwave combinations. Most repairs involve a heating element, the convection fan, the oven sensor, the door lock or the control.
- Microwaves: Over-the-range, built-in and drawer units. We handle microwaves that run without heating, failed door switches, stalled turntables, loud vent fans and dead keypads.
- Freezers: ICON all-freezer columns and upright freezers. Frost buildup, defrost heater failures, fan motors, ice maker faults and door seal problems.
- Cooktops: Gas, radiant electric and induction cooktops. Igniters, spark switches, radiant elements, induction power boards and cracked glass.
- Stoves: Electrolux ranges in everyday use: burners that won't light, elements that stay cold, an oven that won't reach temperature, or a convection fan that makes noise.
- Ranges: Freestanding and slide-in ranges as gas, electric, dual-fuel or induction models, and many add convection and air fry. Igniters, bake elements, fans, sensors and door locks are common repairs.
Getting Electrolux parts
Electrolux parts come through the same North American parts system as Frigidaire, and since many components are shared, supply for common repairs is usually good. Front-load washer tubs and bearings, ICON column electronics and some trim pieces can be slower or come only as larger assemblies. We record the model and serial number at the diagnosis, pin down the right part and tell you roughly how long it will take to arrive.
Electrolux: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Yes. Electrolux owns Frigidaire, and the Electrolux-branded line shares platforms and many parts with Frigidaire's higher-end models. That usually helps parts availability and makes fault patterns well known.
Water left in the door boot, the detergent drawer or the drain pump filter feeds mildew, and a damp basement makes it worse. Leave the door and drawer open between loads, wipe the boot, run a cleaning cycle and clean the pump filter. If a smell persists, we check for a slow drain or a torn boot.
Yes. The columns are built-in units with their own controls and cooling system. The common faults are defrost and fan problems, ice makers and door alignment, and we diagnose them in place.
