Speed Queen Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
People buy Speed Queen expecting it to outlast everything else in the house, and it's built for that. But even a heavy machine wears parts. We repair Speed Queen laundry independently, outside Alliance Laundry's own service network, so a machine still covered by the factory warranty should be claimed through Speed Queen first. Once it's out of coverage, we diagnose at the machine, explain what failed and quote the fix.

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

Speed Queen Products We Service
A laundromat company's home machines
Speed Queen is made by Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, Wisconsin, a company that builds much of the commercial laundry equipment in laundromats, apartment laundry rooms and on-premises laundries. The home machines share that approach: steel construction, simple controls on many models, and parts designed to be replaced rather than thrown away with the machine.
The lineup includes top-load washers with a transmission-driven agitator, front-load washers, and matching gas and electric dryers.
Old houses, basement laundry, heavy machines
Speed Queen washers are heavy, and many Pittsburgh houses keep the laundry in a basement reached by narrow, steep stairs. That's one reason owners tend to repair rather than replace them. Most repairs can be done in place, although a basement with low headroom or tight space around the machine can make access harder, and we plan for that.
Speed Queen is also a common choice for landlords and shared laundry rooms, because the machines hold up to heavy use. Coin and card models in multi-unit buildings are a separate commercial line, and we'll tell you up front whether we can service yours.
Mechanical machines are easier to diagnose
Many Speed Queen models use mechanical timers or straightforward controls. That makes diagnosis direct: a failed switch, belt, pump or valve can usually be tested and replaced without guessing at software faults. Front-loaders and newer electronic models add door locks and control boards, but the mechanical parts still follow familiar patterns.
Speed Queen, product by product
- Washers: Top-load washers with a transmission and agitator, plus front-load washers. Typical calls: no spin, lid or door lock faults, drain pump clogs, water valve failures and transmission leaks.
- Dryers: Gas and electric dryers with heavy steel drums. Common calls: no heat from a thermal fuse, element or igniter, belt breaks, noisy drum support parts and door switch faults.
Getting Speed Queen parts
Speed Queen parts come through Alliance Laundry's distribution and appliance parts suppliers, and many parts stay available for years. Belts, pumps, valves, switches, igniters and elements are generally obtainable by model and serial number. Transmissions and control boards may take longer. We confirm fit and give you a realistic arrival time for it before you say yes.

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Usually, yes. Speed Queen machines are built to be repaired, and parts stay available. We quote the repair so you can compare.
We repair residential Speed Queen models in rentals and shared laundry rooms. Coin or card-operated commercial models may need different parts, so tell us the model number when you book.
Yes. Most repairs are done in place. It helps to clear the space around the machine so we can reach the panels.
