Sharp Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Sharp has been making microwaves for decades, and its built-in microwave drawer is a common sight in remodeled kitchens. We repair Sharp appliances as an independent company, not a Sharp service center, so a unit still under warranty should go to Sharp first. After that, we diagnose it at home, explain the failure and quote before any work.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

Sharp Products We Service
An electronics company in the kitchen
Sharp Corporation is based in Osaka, Japan, and Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision (Foxconn) has owned a controlling stake since 2016. In the US, its home appliances are sold through Sharp's American operations.
Sharp is best known in kitchens for microwaves, especially the microwave drawer, which slides out from under a counter instead of opening on a hinge. It has also added refrigerators and other built-in cooking products to its North American lineup.
Where you'll find them
Microwave drawers turn up in kitchen remodels across the area, from rehabbed rowhouses to renovated suburban homes, usually set into an island or lower cabinets. Over-the-range Sharp microwaves are common in apartments and condos. Sharp refrigerators are less common but increasingly seen in newer and remodeled kitchens.
Drawers have their own failure points
A microwave drawer adds a motor, a track and sensors to the usual microwave parts. When it won't open or close, the cause may be the drawer mechanism rather than the cooking side. We check the drawer motor, track and door sensing along with the heating parts. High-voltage parts in any microwave stay charged even after the plug is pulled, so those repairs belong with a technician.
Sharp, product by product
- Refrigerators: French door and multi-door refrigerators. Common calls: warm sections from fan or defrost faults, ice maker problems, water leaks and control issues.
- Microwaves: Microwave drawers, over-the-range and countertop models. Calls include no heat, drawers that won't open or close, door switch failures and control panel faults.
Getting Sharp parts
Sharp microwave parts, including drawer mechanisms and switches, are available through Sharp's parts channel and appliance parts distributors. Refrigerator parts can be less widely stocked, since the line is newer in North America. We confirm parts by model and serial number and tell you the likely wait.
