Atosa Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

Atosa USA sells stainless commercial refrigeration and cooking equipment to restaurants, bars and cafés, and its reach-ins and prep tables are a common sight in independent kitchens. The units use standard components: condensing units, evaporator fans, digital controllers and door gaskets, so most repairs can be handled on site. We work independently of Atosa. If your unit is still covered by Atosa's warranty, go through Atosa first so the coverage isn't affected.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

Where Atosa equipment works

Atosa shows up wherever a kitchen needed reliable cold storage without a big budget: pizza shops and sandwich counters with prep tables, bars with back-bar coolers, cafés with undercounter units, and restaurant lines with reach-ins at every station.

Many of those kitchens are in older storefronts where equipment sits in tight corners or in a basement prep area reached by steep stairs. Access affects how quickly a unit can be pulled out and worked on, and we plan for it.

Hot kitchens and dirty condensers

Commercial refrigeration pulls heat from inside and dumps it out through a condenser coil. In a kitchen with fryers and grills, that coil draws in grease and flour dust, and in summer the room itself runs hot. A clogged coil forces the compressor to run longer and hotter, which is behind a large share of warm-cabinet calls. Regular coil cleaning is the simplest way to keep these units running.

Hydrocarbon refrigerant

Many newer Atosa units use R-290, a hydrocarbon refrigerant. It works well but is flammable, so sealed-system repair takes ignition-safe procedures and a charge measured by weight. We check the refrigerant on the data plate before any sealed-system work and explain what that repair involves.

Planning around downtime

Fans, gaskets, controllers and probes are usually obtainable. Compressors and model-specific parts can take longer. When a part must be ordered, we tell you the likely wait so you can move product and plan around it.

Atosa, product by product

  • Refrigerators: Reach-in, undercounter, worktop and prep-table refrigerators plus back-bar coolers. Condenser cleaning, evaporator fans, controllers, probes and door gaskets are the usual repairs.
  • Freezers: Reach-in and undercounter freezers. Defrost heaters, drain lines, evaporator icing, gasket frost and compressor overheating are common faults.
  • Ice Makers: Modular and undercounter ice machines. Scale, water valves, condenser cleaning, bin controls and water pumps account for most calls.

Getting Atosa parts

Atosa parts are generally available through Atosa's own parts supply and commercial refrigeration distributors. Fans, gaskets, controllers and probes are commonly stocked; compressors and model-specific components may take longer. We confirm the part from the unit's data plate, use Atosa parts where available and tell you when an equivalent is used.

FAQ

Atosa: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

In a busy kitchen, regularly, and more often near fryers or where flour is in the air. Check the manual for the recommended interval. A clean coil keeps the cabinet cold and reduces strain on the compressor.

Contact Atosa first so the warranty stays valid. If the unit is out of warranty, or you need a repair Atosa doesn't cover, we can diagnose it on site and quote before starting.

We can, though some repairs require the unit to be emptied and moved. We discuss timing with you so the work disrupts the kitchen as little as possible.
