Atosa Freezer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Atosa and are not one of its service centers. A freezer still covered by the Atosa warranty belongs with Atosa first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Freezer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Atosa builds its freezers

Atosa freezers work like the refrigerators but add a defrost system, because the evaporator coil runs below freezing. A heater warms the coil on a schedule and a termination sensor ends defrost; if the heater fails, ice builds until airflow stops and the cabinet warms. Melted water leaves through a drain line that may be heated, and if it freezes, water ends up inside the cabinet as ice. Worn gaskets let in humid air, which frosts around the door. In a hot kitchen, a clogged condenser can overheat the compressor and trip it on its overload.

Parts that tend to fail on Atosa freezers

  • Defrost heater burned out
  • Drain line frozen, ice in cabinet
  • Evaporator iced solid
  • Frost around door from worn gasket
  • Compressor tripping in hot kitchen

FAQ

Atosa Freezer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Usually the defrost drain has frozen or is blocked, so melt water refreezes inside instead of draining out. We clear the drain and test the drain heater if the unit has one.

Ice on the evaporator from a failed defrost cycle, or a stopped evaporator fan, often causes this. We check the defrost heater, sensor and fan before looking at the refrigeration circuit.
