Frigidaire Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Frigidaire and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Frigidaire warranty belongs with Frigidaire first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Washer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Frigidaire builds its washers

Frigidaire washers range from simple top-loaders in rentals to front-loaders and stacked laundry centers built for small spaces. Top-loaders mostly fail at the lid switch, drain pump, suspension springs and drive parts. Front-loaders fail at the door lock, drain pump and door boot, and bearings wear on older units. A laundry center stacks a washer and dryer in one frame, so the washer section is harder to reach and the unit may need to be pulled out. In basements, the washer's drain hose into an older standpipe or laundry tub can be a source of backups or leaks, and cold spaces can freeze supply hoses.

Parts that tend to fail on Frigidaire washers

  • Lid switch not engaging
  • Drain pump jammed
  • Door lock failing on a front-loader
  • Suspension springs worn
  • Door boot torn

Frigidaire Washer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Usually. A lid switch, drive belt or motor part is common. The stacked design means we may need to slide it out, but the washer section is repaired like any top-loader.

A front-loader holds damp lint and water in its rubber boot and pump trap. Clean both and leave the door ajar between loads. If it still smells, we check for a clogged drain or pump.
