LG Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with LG and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the LG warranty belongs with LG first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How LG builds its washers
An LG direct-drive washer has a rotor bolted to the back of the tub and a stator that drives it with no belt in between. A hall sensor tracks rotor position, and when it fails the machine may show LE and struggle to spin. OE means the machine couldn't drain, which usually starts at the pump filter behind the lower front access panel; IE means it couldn't fill; UE is an unbalanced load; dE is a door issue. A loud roar during spin points to tub bearings, and on many LG front-loaders that means a tub assembly. In basement laundry, the machine should be leveled on a solid floor, and an older standpipe that backs up can look like a drain fault on the washer.
Parts that tend to fail on LG washers
- Drain pump filter clogged (OE)
- Rotor position sensor failing (LE)
- Tub bearings roaring in spin
- Door lock fault (dE)
- Inlet valve screens clogged (IE)

LG Washer: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Not always. LE means the control saw a locked or overloaded motor. An overloaded drum, a failed rotor position sensor or a wiring fault can cause it, as well as a failed stator. We test those parts before quoting.
On many models the bearings are part of a tub assembly, so the repair is a large one. On a newer washer it can still make sense. On an older one, we give you the quote and a frank opinion on replacing instead.
