Electrolux Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Electrolux and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Electrolux warranty belongs with Electrolux first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Electrolux builds its washers
Electrolux front-load washers use a direct-drive or belt-driven motor on a suspended tub, a rubber door boot, a drain pump with a coin trap and an electronic door lock. Many models premix detergent with water before it reaches the clothes. The usual complaints are drain faults from a clogged pump filter, a door that won't unlock, and a loud spin from worn bearings. On front-loaders of this design, corrosion on the drum support (the spider arm) can eventually lead to a drum that wobbles or knocks, and that repair means pulling the tub. In basement laundries, a machine that isn't level on the floor adds noise and wear.
Parts that tend to fail on Electrolux washers
- Drain pump filter clogged
- Door lock not releasing
- Tub bearings noisy in spin
- Door boot torn or mildewed
- Drum support arm corroded
Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our washer repair page.
Electrolux Washer: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Look at the drain pump filter behind the lower front panel. Put down towels, open it slowly and clear socks, coins or lint. Also make sure the drain hose isn't kinked or frozen. Still full of water after that? Then we test the pump and the control.
An unbalanced load, an unlevel machine or a soft floor can cause it. If the noise continues with a balanced load, worn shocks or a failing drum support may be the cause. We look at the suspension and the drum before quoting.
