Fisher & Paykel Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Fisher & Paykel and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Fisher & Paykel warranty belongs with Fisher & Paykel first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Fisher & Paykel builds its washers
Many Fisher & Paykel washers use SmartDrive, a direct-drive motor whose rotor sits right on the drive shaft with no belt or transmission in between. The control reads the motor's position and load to manage washing and spinning, so a machine that won't spin or stops mid-cycle can point to the rotor position sensor, a damaged stator winding or the motor control, as well as the ordinary drain and lock faults. Top-loaders in this family also rely on suspension and a lid lock, and heavy loads on an uneven basement floor speed up wear on both. Front-loaders add a door boot and a pump filter that need regular cleaning. Before replacing anything, we read whatever fault the machine has stored.
Parts that tend to fail on Fisher & Paykel washers
- Rotor position sensor fault
- Stator winding damaged
- Drain pump or filter blocked
- Lid lock not engaging
- Worn suspension, unbalanced spin

Fisher & Paykel Washer: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Not necessarily. The control reports problems it detects with the motor, the lid lock or draining, and plenty of spin stoppages come from a slow drain or an unbalanced load rather than the motor. We read the stored fault and then test the part it points to.
Often. With no belt or gearbox the drive is simple, and the rotor, stator and sensor are separate parts. The call depends on the machine's age, the state of the bearings and tub, and whether more than one major part has failed. You get that picture before deciding.
