Roper Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Roper and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Roper warranty belongs with Roper first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
What's inside a Roper washer
Roper top-load washers come in two generations. Older models use Whirlpool's direct-drive design: the motor turns the gearcase through a coupler that is made to break under strain, and agitator dogs wear so the top of the agitator slips. Newer models share Whirlpool's more recent top-load platform, with a lid lock, a shifter that changes between agitate and spin, and electronic sensing of the load. The repair depends on which you have. Common calls across both are no spin, no drain, lid switches or locks, water valves and pumps. We identify the platform from the model number before ordering parts.
Parts that tend to fail on Roper washers
- Motor coupler broken on direct-drive models
- Agitator dogs worn, top agitator slips
- Lid lock or switch preventing spin
- Drain pump clogged or failed
- Water inlet valve not filling

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
On older direct-drive models, the motor coupler is a common cause. On newer models, the shifter may not be changing modes. We check which platform you have and test from there.
Yes. Most washer repairs are done in place. We need room to tilt the washer or open the cabinet, so clearing a bit of space around it helps.
