Speed Queen Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Speed Queen and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Speed Queen warranty belongs with Speed Queen first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Washer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Speed Queen builds its washers

Speed Queen top-load washers use a transmission to drive the agitator and spin the tub, powered by a motor and belt. Many models use a mechanical timer. That design is durable and straightforward to repair: a no-spin call might be a lid switch, belt or transmission problem, and each can be tested directly. Leaks often come from the transmission seal, a hose or the pump. Front-load Speed Queen washers are a different design, with a door lock, drain pump and tub bearings that carry the drum. Door locks and drain pump clogs from coins or socks are common. We check which model you have and test from there.

Parts that tend to fail on Speed Queen washers

  • No spin from a lid switch fault
  • Drive belt slipping or broken
  • Leak at the transmission seal
  • Drain pump clogged with debris
  • Front-load door lock not engaging

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

A worn or broken belt, a problem with the transmission or a motor fault. We check the belt and drive components first.

Usually something small is caught in the drain pump or its filter. We clear it and test the pump.
