Avanti Washer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Avanti and are not one of its service centers. A washer still covered by the Avanti warranty belongs with Avanti first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Washer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Avanti washer

Avanti's portable washers are made for places without laundry hookups: they fill from a sink faucet through a quick-connect adapter and drain into the sink or a tub through a hose. That makes them popular in student apartments and older units where the only laundry is a shared basement. The weak points follow the design: the faucet adapter leaks, the drain pump clogs with lint and socks, the lid switch wears out, and the belt or clutch on top-load models slips. Compact front-load models behave more like full-size ones, with door locks, drain pumps and suspension parts. Leveling matters on these light machines; an uneven floor lets them walk during spin.

Parts that tend to fail on Avanti washers

  • Drain pump clogged with debris
  • Lid switch not sensing closed
  • Faucet adapter leaking at sink
  • Drive belt slipping during spin
  • Washer walking on uneven floor

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our washer repair page.

FAQ

Avanti Washer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

First make sure the drain hose isn't kinked or raised higher than the manual allows, since these pumps can't lift water far. Then check for a sock or lint jammed in the pump inlet. If the pump hums but moves nothing, or stays silent, we test the pump and the control signal to it.

Most work with a standard threaded aerator, using the adapter supplied with the washer. Pull-out sprayers and some faucets without aerator threads won't accept it. A leak at the adapter usually means a missing washer or a worn coupling, which is an inexpensive fix.
