Ice-O-Matic Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Ice-O-Matic is a Denver-based commercial ice machine maker owned by Ali Group. We repair Ice-O-Matic machines independently, with no connection to the manufacturer. Machines still inside warranty should go through Ice-O-Matic's service channels first. After that, we come to your business, diagnose the machine and quote before any work.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem

Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

Ice-O-Matic Products We Service
Denver ice machines, Italian ownership
Ice-O-Matic designs and builds commercial ice machines out of Denver and is part of Ali Group, the Italian foodservice equipment group. Its lineup includes modular and undercounter cubers, Pearl Ice nugget machines and flakers, along with ice bins and dispensers.
In the Pittsburgh area those machines turn up in bars, restaurants, cafés, hotels, and healthcare and school kitchens. A lot of them sit in back rooms or basements, where heat, dust and tight access all affect how well they run.
Scale, slime and slow ice
The most common Ice-O-Matic complaints come from scale on the evaporator, slime in the water trough and distribution tube, and a dusty condenser. The machine still makes ice, but slowly, or with cubes that come out thin, cloudy or stuck to the evaporator.
Cleaning to the manufacturer's procedure with approved chemicals, replacing water filters on schedule and keeping air moving around the condenser prevents many breakdowns.
Getting through a shift without ice
Bagged ice covers most short outages. Tell us your hours when you book, and we'll plan around service when the fault allows. If the machine can be cleaned and restarted in one visit, that's the plan; if a part is needed, you get the lead time.

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Usually scale, slime, a clogged filter or low water. Cleaning and a filter change often help. If not, we check the water pump, the water level sensing and the ice thickness probe.
Yes. They make ice with an auger in a freezing cylinder, turned by a gear motor. We check the gear motor, auger, bearings and water supply, and look for scale in the cylinder.
At least as often as the manual says, and more often in a hot or busy location. Scale and slime reduce ice production and wear out parts.
