Bosch Dryer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Bosch and are not one of its service centers. A dryer still covered by the Bosch warranty belongs with Bosch first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Bosch builds its dryers

Most Bosch dryers here are 24-inch compact units that don't vent outdoors. A condensation model cools moist air through a heat exchanger and collects the water in a tank or sends it to a drain; heat-pump models do the same with a small refrigeration loop and run cooler. That makes them ideal for apartments and closets without a vent, but lint that slips past the screen builds up on the condenser, and drying slows. Newer models clean the condenser automatically, while older ones have a removable condenser to rinse. A condensate pump or clogged drain line can halt the cycle. These dryers take longer by design, so we compare against the expected cycle time before assuming a fault.

Parts that tend to fail on Bosch dryers

  • Condenser clogged with lint
  • Condensate pump failing
  • Drain hose blocked, water tank full
  • Drum belt broken
  • Moisture sensor coated, cycles ending early

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our dryer repair page.

FAQ

Bosch Dryer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Condensation dryers are slower than vented ones. But if drying time has grown, clean the lint filter and, if your model has one, the removable condenser. A partly blocked condenser or drain path is common. We test heat and airflow if it persists.

No. It condenses moisture into water that is either held in a tank or pumped to a drain. It still needs good airflow around the machine, so don't pack it in without the clearance the install guide calls for.
