Frigidaire Dryer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Frigidaire and are not one of its service centers. A dryer still covered by the Frigidaire warranty belongs with Frigidaire first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Frigidaire builds its dryers

Frigidaire dryers are simple, which keeps repairs predictable. Electric dryers use a heating element and thermal fuse, and a clogged vent can blow the fuse. Gas models add an igniter, a flame sensor and a pair of valve coils; a glowing igniter that shuts off with no flame usually means the coils are weak. Drum rollers, belts and the idler pulley wear, creating thumping or squealing. Laundry centers put the dryer on top of the washer, so the vent connection is tight and easily crushed. In older houses with long vent runs through basements, lint buildup is a common cause of slow drying.

Parts that tend to fail on Frigidaire dryers

  • Thermal fuse blown by vent restriction
  • Gas valve coils failing
  • Heating element broken
  • Drum rollers worn
  • Belt snapped

The general dryer repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Frigidaire Dryer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Watch it: if the igniter glows and goes out without a flame, the gas valve coils are likely weak. If it never glows, the igniter or flame sensor is suspect. We test both with the gas off.

Quite possibly. The vent behind a stacked unit is easy to crush or clog. We check the vent run and then test the dryer's heat and airflow.
