Samsung Dryer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Samsung and are not one of its service centers. A dryer still covered by the Samsung warranty belongs with Samsung first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Samsung builds its dryers

Samsung dryers are simple underneath the touch panel. On electric models the heating element sits in a duct at the back, with a thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat guarding it; when airflow drops, the fuse opens and the dryer tumbles cold. Gas models use an igniter and gas valve coils, and weak coils produce the familiar pattern of heat at the start of a cycle and none later. Samsung may display HE or hE when it detects a heating problem, but the code doesn't say whether the element, a thermostat or the vent is at fault. Drum rollers and the idler pulley make most of the squeaking. A basement dryer vented a long way to an outside wall collects lint quickly, so vent checks are part of every no-heat call.

Parts that tend to fail on Samsung dryers

  • Thermal fuse opened by a restricted vent
  • Heating element coil broken
  • Gas valve coils weak, flame cutting out
  • Drum rollers or idler pulley squealing
  • Moisture sensor ending cycles early

FAQ

Samsung Dryer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The code only means the dryer did not see the temperature rise it expected. The element, a thermal fuse, a thermostat or a clogged vent can all cause it. We check the vent and airflow and then test each part in the heat circuit before replacing anything.

Many older homes have three-wire dryer outlets, and most electric dryers can be wired with a three-wire cord if that matches the outlet. The cord and ground strap have to be set up correctly for it. If the outlet itself is damaged or scorched, that needs an electrician.
