ASKO Dryer Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with ASKO and are not one of its service centers. A dryer still covered by the ASKO warranty belongs with ASKO first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How ASKO builds its dryers

Asko offers compact dryers in vented, condensing and heat-pump versions, and each fails in its own way. Vented models behave much like any electric dryer, with elements and thermal protectors. Condensing and heat-pump dryers pass warm air over a heat exchanger that strips out moisture; when the lint filters or the exchanger clog, drying time stretches and error lights appear. Condensate goes to a container or a small pump and drain hose, and if that pump fails, the dryer stops mid-cycle. Belts, drum support rollers and moisture sensors also wear. Heat-pump models have a sealed refrigeration circuit, which is rarely the problem but needs specific handling when it is.

Parts that tend to fail on ASKO dryers

  • Heat exchanger clogged with lint
  • Condensate pump not emptying
  • Moisture sensor misreading dryness
  • Drum belt broken or slipping
  • Heating element open on vented model

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our dryer repair page.

FAQ

ASKO Dryer: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Most often, the lint filters or the heat exchanger are clogged. Cleaning them as the manual describes usually restores drying time. If it doesn't, we check the fan, sensors and the heat-pump system.

If it's plumbed to a drain, the condensate pump or hose may be blocked. If it uses the container, the float or sensor may be stuck. We test the pump and sensor to find which.
