ASKO Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Asko began in Sweden and built its name on sturdy, quiet washers and dishwashers. Slovenia's Gorenje bought the company in 2010 and moved production to Slovenia in 2013; Gorenje itself has been controlled by Hisense since 2018. The machines still follow a European pattern: compact, heavily built and fussier about installation than typical American appliances. We repair Asko independently. An Asko still under the maker's warranty should go to Asko first.
How a Repair Visit Works

ASKO Products We Service
European engineering on a smaller footprint
Asko laundry is 24 inches wide and often stacked, and the dryers include ventless condensing and heat-pump models. Asko dishwashers use stainless steel inside and heat water with their own heater. That makes these machines well built, but also means parts are specific to the brand, not borrowed from a big American platform.
Where Asko machines end up
Compact laundry suits the places where a full-size pair won't fit: a closet on the second floor of a renovated rowhouse, a condo unit in a Downtown building, a kitchen corner in a converted duplex. A ventless dryer also solves the problem of running a vent through a stone foundation or an interior wall.
The small size helps in older basements too. A 24-inch machine is far easier to get down a narrow, steep staircase than a full-width front-loader.
Installation shapes the repair
Many Asko problems start with the setup. Stacked units need the right stacking kit and a level floor. Ventless dryers need their filters and heat exchanger kept clean and a proper drain for condensate. Dishwashers need correct drain height and a level install to avoid tripping the leak sensor. We look at those before replacing parts.
Getting Asko parts
Asko parts are distributed in North America, but some ship from Europe. Common pumps, seals and filters are usually obtainable; control boards and model-specific parts can take longer. We confirm the part from the serial label and tell you the likely wait before ordering.
ASKO, product by product
- Washers: 24-inch front-load washers, often stacked with a matching dryer. Drain pumps, door locks, bearings, shock absorbers and control faults are the usual calls.
- Dryers: Compact vented, condensing and heat-pump dryers. Clogged filters and heat exchangers, drum belts, sensors and condensate pumps account for most repairs.
- Dishwashers: Built-in dishwashers with stainless steel tubs. Leak-sensor lockouts, drain and circulation pumps, heaters and door springs are common repairs.
Getting ASKO parts
Asko parts come through the brand's North American distribution, with some items shipped from Europe. Filters, pumps and seals are usually available within a reasonable time; electronic boards and less common components can take longer, and older models may have discontinued parts. We identify parts from the serial label during the visit, use genuine Asko parts where they exist, and tell you when an equivalent is used.
ASKO: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Like many European machines, Asko washers use relatively little water and heat it with their own heater, and they rely on longer wash times instead of volume. Long cycles are normal. A cycle that never ends usually points to a drain, heating or sensor problem.
No. It removes moisture by condensing it and either collects the water in a container or pumps it to a drain. It does need its lint filters and heat exchanger cleaned regularly, or drying slows down noticeably.
Often, because the machines are well built. The deciding factor is part availability for your model. We check that before quoting so you aren't waiting on a part that no longer exists.
