La Cornue Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
La Cornue is a French range maker that is now part of Composition Brands, the residential kitchen group formed from Middleby's home appliance business. We aren't connected to La Cornue or its American distribution and aren't an authorized service center. In-warranty ranges go to La Cornue's service network first. After that, we diagnose at your home and quote before starting.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

La Cornue Products We Service
A French workshop brand
La Cornue was founded in France in 1908 and built its name on the vaulted oven, whose curved ceiling moves heat around the food. Château ranges are built largely by hand to order, in enamel colors with brass, nickel or chrome trim. CornuFé is the brand's more accessible line, in standard sizes with fewer custom options.
Middleby bought La Cornue in 2019, and in 2026 its residential kitchen group, La Cornue included, became Composition Brands after 26North took a majority stake.
Where La Cornue ranges are found
La Cornue ranges are rare, and around Pittsburgh they usually anchor a custom kitchen: a restored Victorian, a large home in Fox Chapel, or a remodel in Squirrel Hill or Mt. Lebanon where the range was chosen first and the room designed around it.
A Château is very heavy and is often installed under a custom hood with a stone or tile backsplash. Moving one takes several people and floor protection, so any repair that requires pulling it out is planned in advance.
When repair makes sense
On a Château, repair nearly always makes sense, given the cost of replacement and the time a new one takes to build. Parts come from France through the brand's American distribution, so anything unusual can take a while. Common items like thermocouples, igniters, knobs and thermostats are easier to get.
On CornuFé models the math is closer, and we tell you where a repair stands before you commit.
La Cornue, product by product
- Ovens: Vaulted gas and electric ovens in Château and CornuFé ranges. Thermostats, thermocouples, igniters, elements and door hinges are the usual repairs.
- Cooktops: Rangetops and the cooktop sections of La Cornue ranges, including French tops. Thermocouples, igniters, valves and burner parts are typical.
- Stoves: La Cornue stoves are freestanding ranges, Château or CornuFé. Oven thermostats, burner thermocouples, ignition and door hardware come up most.
- Ranges: Château and CornuFé ranges in gas, electric and dual-fuel. Burner flame safety, ignition, oven thermostats and elements fail most.
Getting La Cornue parts
La Cornue parts are supplied through the brand's American distribution, and many ship from France. Thermocouples, igniters, knobs, thermostats and gaskets are the common orders; unusual trim and parts for custom configurations can take weeks. We match parts to the model and serial number and give you the lead time before you approve the repair.
La Cornue: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
La Cornue is part of Composition Brands, the residential kitchen business that 26North and Middleby own together. The Château ranges are still built in France.
Many La Cornue burners use thermocouple flame safety. Holding the knob keeps the gas valve open until the thermocouple heats up. If the flame dies when you let go, the thermocouple may be weak, dirty or out of position.
Almost always, especially a Château. Parts can take time, but most repairs are far less disruptive than replacing a custom range.
