La Cornue Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with La Cornue and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the La Cornue warranty belongs with La Cornue first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How La Cornue builds its ranges

La Cornue ranges come in gas, electric and dual-fuel configurations. On gas tops, burners use electric ignition with thermocouple flame safety; on electric ovens, elements and thermostats are the usual failures. CornuFé ranges share the vaulted oven idea in standard widths with simpler construction, while Château ranges are made to order with options such as French tops, griddles, multiple ovens and different trim metals. That means knowing the exact configuration matters before a part is ordered, since two Châteaux of the same width may not share the same components. The faults themselves are familiar: weak thermocouples, igniters that stop sparking, thermostats drifting out of calibration, and heavy doors wearing their hinges.

Parts that tend to fail on La Cornue ranges

  • Thermocouple fault on burners
  • Igniter not sparking
  • Oven thermostat failing
  • Electric oven element failed
  • Door hinge worn

The general range repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

La Cornue Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The systems are similar, but Château ranges are built to order and can have configuration-specific parts and trim. CornuFé ranges are more standardized, so parts may be easier to get.

Common parts can arrive fairly quickly; custom or less common parts can take weeks. You get the expected wait at the diagnosis.
