GE Appliances Oven Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with GE Appliances and are not one of its service centers. A oven still covered by the GE Appliances warranty belongs with GE Appliances first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How an Oven Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How GE Appliances builds its ovens

GE ovens have some of the most well-known error codes: F3 means the oven sensor circuit is open, F4 means it's shorted, and F7 points to a stuck keypad. Beyond the codes, bake and broil elements burn out, and gas ovens use a hot-surface igniter that weakens with age. Wall ovens and double ovens need to be pulled from the cabinet to reach the wiring. Advantium speed-cook ovens combine halogen lamps, a ceramic heater, convection and microwave, which makes them more complex and gives them their own parts. Self-cleaning can overheat the door lock or control.

Parts that tend to fail on GE Appliances ovens

  • Oven sensor circuit open (F3)
  • Keypad stuck (F7)
  • Bake element burned out
  • Gas igniter too weak
  • Door lock failed after self-clean

FAQ

GE Appliances Oven: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

F3 usually points to an open oven sensor circuit. The sensor itself, its connector or its wiring can be the cause. We test the sensor's resistance and the wiring, and replace the faulty part.

Yes. Advantium units have more parts than a standard oven, including halogen lamps and a speed-cook control. We diagnose the specific fault and check part availability before quoting.
