Roper Oven Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Roper and are not one of its service centers. A oven still covered by the Roper warranty belongs with Roper first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How an Oven Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside a Roper oven

On a Roper gas range, the bake igniter is a glow bar that heats up and draws current through the gas safety valve. The valve only opens when the current is high enough, so an igniter that still glows but has weakened may never light the oven. That's the most common Roper gas oven call. Electric Roper ovens rely on bake and broil elements, and a burned-out element is easy to spot and replace. Temperature sensors that drift or fail can make an oven run hot or cold on either type. We test the igniter's current draw, the elements and the sensor before replacing parts.

Parts that tend to fail on Roper ovens

  • Weak bake igniter that glows but won't light
  • Bake element burned through
  • Broil element not heating
  • Oven temperature sensor out of range
  • Oven door hinges worn or loose

FAQ

Roper Oven: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

A weakened igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas valve. Replacing the igniter is the usual fix.

The temperature sensor may be reading wrong, or the control may need calibration. We test the sensor first.
