Amana Oven Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Amana and are not one of its service centers. A oven still covered by the Amana warranty belongs with Amana first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How an Oven Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Amana oven

The oven in an Amana range is simple and Whirlpool-built. In a gas oven, a glow-bar igniter opens the safety valve by drawing current through it, and an aging one leaves the oven slow to light or cold. In an electric oven, bake and broil elements fail with visible breaks or blisters, and the oven sensor can drift, causing uneven or inaccurate temperature. Models with self-clean use a door lock that can stick after a cycle. Mechanical thermostats on basic models can also drift or fail. Because the oven is part of an inexpensive range, we compare the repair against a new range before recommending it.

Parts that tend to fail on Amana ovens

  • Glow-bar igniter weak
  • Bake element broken
  • Broil element not heating
  • Oven sensor drifting
  • Door lock stuck

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our oven repair page.

FAQ

Amana Oven: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Usually the igniter. As it ages it keeps glowing, but its current falls until the valve opens late or stays shut. We test the igniter's current before replacing it.

Usually yes. A bake element is a common, affordable part. We confirm the element is the only fault before replacing it.
