Thor Kitchen Oven Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Thor Kitchen and are not one of its service centers. A oven still covered by the Thor Kitchen warranty belongs with Thor Kitchen first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How an Oven Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Thor Kitchen builds its ovens

Thor wall ovens and range ovens come in gas and electric, and many have convection. On electric ovens the bake and broil elements and the temperature sensor are the usual failures; a broken element often shows a visible blister or break. On gas ovens, the ignition system and gas valve are the main suspects when the oven won't heat or takes a long time to light. Convection fans wear their bearings and start to grind. Pro-style doors are heavy, and the hinges loosen over time until the door no longer closes square, letting heat escape and warming the knobs. We test elements, ignition, sensor and fan before touching the controls.

Parts that tend to fail on Thor Kitchen ovens

  • Convection fan noisy
  • Bake element burned out
  • Gas oven not igniting
  • Temperature sensor drifting
  • Heavy door hinges loose

The general oven repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Thor Kitchen Oven: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

On gas models, a weakening igniter is a common cause of slow lighting. On electric models, a dead bake element means the oven is heating from the broil element alone. We test both before ordering anything.

Usually worn motor bearings, or a fan blade rubbing on something. The convection fan motor can be replaced without replacing the oven.
