How KitchenAid builds its ovens
KitchenAid wall ovens are known for Even-Heat True Convection, which uses a third element around a rear fan behind a bow-tie shaped baffle. When the convection element or fan fails, the oven still bakes but unevenly, and a convection mode may take much longer to preheat. The bake and broil elements, the oven temperature sensor and the self-clean door lock are the other common failures. Double wall ovens and microwave combination units have more wiring packed behind the control panel, and the controls can suffer from heat over the years. Removing a wall oven to reach its back takes planning, so we check what can be tested from the front first.

They are separate circuits with their own sensors and elements. If one is off in temperature or dead, we test that cavity's parts. The board serving both is checked if both show faults.
