Thor Kitchen Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
Thor Kitchen sells the restaurant look for less, and its appliances show up in a lot of recent remodels. The parts inside are mostly conventional, which makes diagnosis straightforward even when the parts themselves take a few days. We repair Thor independently, without any connection to Thor's service program, so an appliance still under warranty should be reported to Thor first.
How a Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

A newer brand with a pro-style look
Thor Kitchen was founded in 2015 in Southern California. Its idea was to offer the heavy knobs, stainless bodies and high-output burners of pro-style kitchens at a lower price. There is also a Gordon Ramsay line from the same company.
Around Pittsburgh, Thor appliances tend to appear in flipped and remodeled houses, newer townhomes and suburban kitchen renovations, often as a matched package bought together.
What goes wrong on a Thor range
Thor ranges use sealed gas burners with electronic spark ignition and gas or electric ovens, some with convection. Clicking igniters, burners that won't light after a spill, weak flames from clogged ports, oven igniters or elements, and convection fans are the usual calls.
Thor ranges are heavy. Moving one on hardwood or tile takes care, and we look over the gas connector and the anti-tip bracket any time we pull it out.
When a Thor repair makes sense
Thor appliances cost less than older pro-style brands, so it's fair to ask whether a repair is worth it. For range parts like igniters, burners, elements and hinges, it usually is. For a sealed-system failure on a refrigerator or a failed board on an inexpensive dishwasher, the comparison is closer. We'll tell you the wait for parts and whether replacement makes more sense.
Thor Kitchen, product by product
- Refrigerators: French door, built-in and panel-ready refrigerators. Common calls: warm fresh-food section, ice maker failure, frost from defrost faults and door alignment.
- Dishwashers: Stainless 24-inch dishwashers. Usual repairs: draining problems, inlet valves, door latches and hinges, and unresponsive controls.
- Ovens: Wall ovens and the ovens in Thor ranges. Calls include convection fan noise, element or igniter failure, temperature problems and heavy door hinges.
- Microwaves: Microwave drawers and built-in microwaves. Calls include no heat, drawers that won't open or close and control failures.
- Cooktops: Gas rangetops, gas and induction cooktops. Most calls involve igniters, uneven flame and induction zones cutting out.
- Wine Coolers: Undercounter and dual-zone wine coolers. Typical complaints: a zone that won't hold its setting, a fan that has quit, tired door seals.
- Stoves: The burner side of Thor ranges. Common complaints: clicking igniters, weak flame and burners that won't relight.
- Ranges: 30- to 48-inch gas, dual-fuel, electric and induction ranges. Typical repairs: igniters, oven elements, convection fans, valves and hinges.
Getting Thor Kitchen parts
Thor parts are not as widely stocked by general parts suppliers as the big domestic brands, so some come directly through Thor. Igniters, knobs, elements and fans are generally obtainable; boards and refrigeration parts are slower to come in. We confirm by model and serial number and say how long the part should take before you say yes.

Usually. Most range repairs involve igniters, elements, valves or hinges, which cost far less than a new range. We quote the repair and check parts availability first.
It's from the same company, so the designs are similar, but parts are ordered against the full model number printed on the rating label.
Fewer general suppliers stock them, so some parts come directly through Thor. We tell you the expected wait before you approve.
