Thor Kitchen Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Thor Kitchen and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Thor Kitchen warranty belongs with Thor Kitchen first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Thor Kitchen builds its dishwashers

Thor dishwashers are 24-inch stainless units designed to sit next to a Thor range. Inside, they work like most modern dishwashers: a circulation pump sprays water through the arms, a separate drain pump empties the tub, and a filter under the lower rack catches food. When the filter isn't cleaned, water stands in the bottom and dishes come out gritty, so we clean it before condemning the pump. Other common repairs are inlet valves that don't fill, door latches that won't catch and hinge springs that let the door drop. Because these dishwashers are modestly priced, a failed control board on an older unit may tip the decision toward replacing it.

Parts that tend to fail on Thor Kitchen dishwashers

  • Standing water from a clogged filter
  • Drain pump failing
  • Inlet valve not filling
  • Door latch not catching
  • Control board unresponsive

FAQ

Thor Kitchen Dishwasher: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Clean the filter under the lower rack first. If water still stands, the drain hose may be kinked or the drain pump may be blocked or failed. We test the pump once the filter is clear.

Pumps, valves, latches and hinge springs usually are. A failed control board on an older unit may not be. We quote the repair and tell you which side of that line it falls on.
