Admiral Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Admiral and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Admiral warranty belongs with Admiral first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Admiral range

Admiral sells plain 30-inch freestanding ranges in electric and gas. Electric models connect with a 240-volt cord to a terminal block on the back; a loose terminal there can overheat and cut power to half the range. Gas models need 120 volts for the igniters and controls as well as the gas line. Both types rely on an anti-tip bracket at the rear foot, which is often missing after a move. The control boards switch elements through relays that can weld shut or stop closing. Because the range is freestanding, most repairs are reachable by sliding it out on a protected floor.

Parts that tend to fail on Admiral ranges

  • Power cord terminal block burned
  • Oven igniter weak on gas model
  • Control board relay failed
  • Anti-tip bracket missing
  • Oven element not heating

FAQ

Admiral Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

This often means one leg of the 240-volt supply is lost, either at a tripped breaker or a burned terminal at the cord connection. We check the supply and the terminal block before anything inside.

Yes. It keeps the range from tipping forward when weight is put on an open door. We check for it whenever we move a range and can install one if it is missing.
