Roper Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Roper and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Roper warranty belongs with Roper first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside a Roper range

A Roper range is a basic freestanding unit, gas or electric, with the oven and cooktop sharing one cabinet. On gas models, the most common oven fault is a weakened bake igniter that glows but can't pull the amperage the safety valve needs before it opens. On electric models, bake and broil elements, coil receptacles and infinite switches wear out. Both types can have temperature sensor or control issues. Because a Roper range is inexpensive, we weigh the repair against replacement on anything beyond ordinary wear parts. We also check the anti-tip bracket when the range is pulled out.

Parts that tend to fail on Roper ranges

  • Gas oven igniter too weak to light
  • Electric bake element burned out
  • Cooktop receptacle or switch failure
  • Oven not reaching set temperature
  • Door hinge or gasket worn

Roper Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Igniters, elements and switches are usually worth repairing. A failed control or several faults at once on an older range may not be. We quote the repair so you can decide.

Yes, gas and electric. On gas ranges we check the igniter, valve and burners, and we check for leaks at the connection whenever the range is moved.
