Avanti Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Avanti and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Avanti warranty belongs with Avanti first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Avanti range

Avanti's 20- and 24-inch ranges exist for kitchens where a standard 30-inch unit won't fit, and they share a common pattern. Gas versions have sealed top burners with spark ignition and an oven burner lit by a hot-surface igniter; some models add a separate broiler compartment below. Electric versions use coil or smooth-top elements over a bake and broil oven. Their controls tend to be simple, often a mechanical thermostat and infinite switches rather than a touch panel. That simplicity helps repair: most faults are one part that tests bad on a meter. The cost to watch is the oven liner and body; rust-through in the cavity is not worth fixing.

Parts that tend to fail on Avanti ranges

  • Oven igniter no longer opening valve
  • Oven thermostat out of calibration
  • Surface burner spark switch failed
  • Bake element split or blistered
  • Broiler drawer not lighting

The general range repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Avanti Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Several makers build 20- and 24-inch ranges, but the fit, gas connection location and anti-tip bracket can differ. That is why repairing the one that already fits is often the better option. We give you the repair quote so you can compare.

On many models the thermostat can be calibrated. We first check the real temperature with a thermometer over a full cycle. If the thermostat or sensor is too far off to adjust, we replace it with the part matched to your model.
