Viking Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Viking and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Viking warranty belongs with Viking first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Range Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Viking builds its ranges
Viking ranges come as all-gas or dual-fuel, and the oven side decides how the repair goes. In an all-gas oven, lighting depends on a glow-bar igniter wired to a safety valve, and an oven that is slow to light is usually a weak igniter. On dual-fuel models the burners burn gas while the oven heats electrically, which means bake and broil elements, relays and the electronic control come into play instead. Many Viking ranges have a convection fan and an infrared broil burner. Larger ranges carry two ovens, and either cavity can quit on its own. The oven doors are heavy, and worn hinges leave the door hanging open slightly, which spills heat into the knobs and nearby cabinets.
Parts that tend to fail on Viking ranges
- Igniter current too low for the oven valve
- Bake element failed on a dual-fuel oven
- Convection fan motor stopped
- Infrared broiler not lighting
- Oven door hinge worn

Viking Range: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Dual-fuel means an electric oven under gas burners. The checks cover bake and broil elements, the oven sensor, relays and the control. The gas burners run on a separate system.
The broil burner has its own igniter and valve. A weak igniter or a valve that will not open are the most common causes, and a cracked ceramic broil burner can affect the flame. We test each part in order.
