Maytag Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Maytag and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Maytag warranty belongs with Maytag first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Maytag builds its ranges

Front-control and slide-in Maytag ranges move the controls to the front, which puts the touch panel and board right above the heat. Power Preheat models bring the oven up faster by working more than one element at once, so a failed element or a relay on the board can show up as a slow preheat instead of no heat. Convection models add a fan and sometimes a third element behind the back wall. Gas models light with a hot-surface igniter. Slide-in installs sit between cabinets, so the range often needs to be slid out carefully to reach wiring. On any range, check the anti-tip bracket when it goes back in.

Parts that tend to fail on Maytag ranges

  • Touch panel not responding
  • Oven preheating slowly on Power Preheat
  • Convection fan or element failed
  • Oven igniter too weak to open the valve
  • Oven temperature sensor failing

The general range repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Maytag Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

An element may have burned open, or the relay feeding it on the board has quit. On gas models, a weak igniter slows ignition. We check each element and its supply.

Usually. The panel, the control board and their ribbon cable are tested separately so only the failed piece is replaced. We confirm part supply for your model before ordering.
