Thermador Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Thermador and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Thermador warranty belongs with Thermador first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Thermador builds its ranges

Thermador ranges fall into the Pro Harmony and Pro Grand families, in gas, dual-fuel and induction, with widths up to 60 inches on Pro Grand. Many include a griddle or grill with its own burner and control. Gas ovens use a glow igniter and safety valve, so a weak igniter leaves the oven slow to light. Dual-fuel versions swap in an electric oven that has separate bake, broil and convection elements. Some models have a steam oven or warming drawer built in. These ranges are heavy and tightly fitted; when one must come out, we plan for two people, protect the floor, restore the anti-tip bracket and leak-test the gas connection.

Parts that tend to fail on Thermador ranges

  • Gas oven igniter weak
  • Dual-fuel convection element open
  • Griddle heating unevenly
  • Spark module failing
  • Oven door hinge worn

FAQ

Thermador Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The igniter has to reach a certain current to open the gas valve. An old one glows orange yet pulls too little current, and the valve hangs shut or opens slowly. We measure the current and replace the igniter if it's weak.

Yes. Griddles use their own burner or element and a thermostat or sensor. Uneven heat or no heat usually comes from the burner, igniter, thermostat or sensor, and we test each one.
