Amana Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Amana and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Amana warranty belongs with Amana first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Range Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
What's inside an Amana range
Newer Amana ranges add self-clean and electronic controls to the basic design. The control board runs the oven through relays, reads an oven sensor, and drives a door lock for self-clean. Common repairs include a sensor that reads high or low, a touchpad that stops responding, a relay that sticks, and a door lock that stays latched after self-clean. Gas ranges still depend on a glow-bar igniter, which wears over time. Because Amana ranges are Whirlpool-built, many parts are shared with Whirlpool models, which keeps sensors, igniters and elements easy to source. On an older range, a failed main control is the point where we compare the cost of the repair with a new range.
Parts that tend to fail on Amana ranges
- Oven sensor drifting
- Touchpad not responding
- Control relay sticking
- Door lock stuck
- Oven igniter weak
Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our range repair page.
Amana Range: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Many electronic Amana ranges allow a temperature offset. If the sensor or control is failing, it is replaced instead.
Let it cool fully. If it still will not unlock, the door lock or control may have failed. We test both before replacing parts.
