LG Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with LG and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the LG warranty belongs with LG first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How LG builds its ranges

LG ranges add more to the basic stove: touch controls, Wi-Fi, air fry, InstaView glass, and a slide-in or front-control layout. Dual-fuel models combine a gas top with an electric oven. In these, a range that won't heat or shows an error usually needs its sensor, elements and control board checked in that order. Touch panels on front-control models get splashed and worn, and a failing panel can stop responding or register phantom presses. Convection fans and elements are the next most common repairs. On gas and dual-fuel ranges, we inspect the igniters and valves. Moving a range out for service means refitting the anti-tip bracket when it goes back.

Parts that tend to fail on LG ranges

  • Control board not powering elements
  • Touch panel not responding
  • Oven igniter weak on gas ranges
  • Convection fan motor failed
  • Oven sensor out of range

LG Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

It can be the touch panel, its ribbon cable or the main board. Spills and heat can damage the panel. Check that the control lock isn't on first. We test the panel and cable before deciding which part to order.

It means two sets of systems: gas valves and igniters on top and electric elements and sensors in the oven. We diagnose each separately. It also means the range is hooked to gas and to its own 240-volt supply.
