Whirlpool Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Whirlpool and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Whirlpool warranty belongs with Whirlpool first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Range Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Whirlpool builds its ranges
Whirlpool ranges include freestanding, front-control and slide-in models, gas and electric, and some with convection or air fry. They have more electronics than the basic stove: a main control, a touch panel, and on some models a convection fan and element. If the oven won't heat, we check the sensor and elements first, then the relays on the control board. On gas ranges, the bake igniter is the usual failure. Touch panels on front-control models can stop responding after spills. When a range is pulled out for service, we reinstall the anti-tip bracket so it can't tip forward when the oven door is loaded.
Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool ranges
- Main control board relay failed
- Touch panel keys not responding
- Oven igniter weak
- Convection fan motor stopped
- Oven sensor out of range
The general range repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.
Whirlpool Range: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Write down the code and cut power at the breaker for a short while. If the code reappears after power is restored, it usually points to a sensor, element or control circuit. We test the circuit it points to before ordering a part.
Weight on an open oven door, from a heavy roast pan or a child climbing, can pull a range forward. The bracket holds the rear foot to the floor or wall. It should be reinstalled any time the range is moved.
