Miele Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Miele and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Miele warranty belongs with Miele first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Miele builds its ranges

Miele sells ranges in dual-fuel and all-gas versions. On dual-fuel models the burners are gas and the oven is electric, with convection and often self-cleaning, so oven faults come from elements, fans, sensors and the door lock. All-gas ranges bake with a gas burner lit by an igniter, and a weak igniter can glow without opening the gas valve. Some wider models add a griddle with its own burner and control. Miele ranges are heavy and fit tightly against counters and backsplashes, so when a repair needs rear access we plan for two people, protect the floor and put the anti-tip bracket back. We test the oven's heat sources and sensor first, and the electronics last.

Parts that tend to fail on Miele ranges

  • Gas oven igniter too weak
  • Dual-fuel bake element open
  • Convection fan motor failing
  • Self-clean door lock stuck
  • Griddle burner not lighting

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our range repair page.

FAQ

Miele Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

On dual-fuel models the oven runs on electricity, separately from the burners. We check the 240-volt supply, the bake and convection elements, the fan, the temperature sensor and the door lock before looking at the control.

Many repairs happen from the front or top: burners, igniters, oven elements and sensors. Rear gas connections and power wiring need the range pulled out, and when that happens we protect the floor and reinstall the anti-tip bracket.
