Dacor Range Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Dacor and are not one of its service centers. A range still covered by the Dacor warranty belongs with Dacor first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Dacor builds its ranges

Dacor ranges are pro-style and come in gas, dual-fuel and induction versions, from 30 to 48 inches, some with a griddle. On dual-fuel models the burners are gas and the oven is electric with Dacor's convection system, which means two utility hookups: gas plus a 240-volt circuit. All-gas models light the oven with an igniter and have a broiler of their own. Induction ranges have no gas and depend on power boards and cooling fans. These ranges are heavy, and pulling one out means protecting the floor, disconnecting gas or power, and reattaching the anti-tip bracket. Most burner and oven repairs are done from the front.

Parts that tend to fail on Dacor ranges

  • Oven igniter not opening valve
  • Dual-fuel convection element failed
  • Griddle burner not lighting
  • Induction cooling fan clogged
  • Burner valve leaking or stiff

FAQ

Dacor Range: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The oven is electric, so it depends on the 240-volt supply, the elements, relays and control. We check the breaker and power first, then test the elements, relays and sensor.

Usually. Burners, igniters, valves, elements and fans are often still available. Control boards are the part that can be hard to find on older units, and we check that before quoting.
