Admiral Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Admiral and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the Admiral warranty belongs with Admiral first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Admiral stove

When people say their Admiral stove is broken, they usually mean one of a few things: a burner won't light or heat, the oven takes forever to preheat, the controls stop responding, or a knob spins without turning anything. On gas models, a yellow, lazy flame generally means a misaligned cap or clogged ports. A knob that spins means a stripped D-shaft on the knob or a worn valve stem. Electronic control panels can lock out after a surge or a spill on the membrane. We sort out which part of the stove is really at fault, then quote that repair only.

Parts that tend to fail on Admiral stoves

  • Surface burner won't light
  • Oven slow to preheat
  • Control panel not responding
  • Burner flame yellow and uneven
  • Knob spinning on worn shaft

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our stove repair page.

FAQ

Admiral Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Not necessarily. Turning off the breaker for a minute sometimes clears it, and a control lock may be set. If it still won't respond, we test the touchpad and board separately before choosing which to replace.

A mostly yellow flame burns inefficiently and can leave soot. Check that the cap sits flat and the ports are clear. If it stays yellow, the burner or air setting needs attention. For a gas smell with knobs off, leave and call the gas company.
