Miele Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Miele and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the Miele warranty belongs with Miele first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Miele builds its stoves

Miele's freestanding ranges are what most owners call their stove, and daily use brings mostly small problems. The sealed burners use electronic ignition and, on gas models, a flame-failure safety, so a burner that lights but won't stay on after you release the knob usually has a dirty or misplaced sensor rather than a bad valve. Caps pushed off-center after cleaning cause uneven flames or failed ignition. Spills that soak the igniters make them click without lighting until they dry. The oven below, whether gas or electric, can drift off temperature as the sensor ages. We clean and reseat every burner, test ignition at each setting and check the oven with our own thermometer before quoting parts.

Parts that tend to fail on Miele stoves

  • Burner going out when knob released
  • Igniter clicking without lighting
  • Burner cap seated off-center
  • Oven temperature drifting
  • Oven door hinge stiff

FAQ

Miele Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The flame-failure safety holds the gas open only once it senses heat. If the sensor is dirty, bent away from the flame or failing, the gas shuts off. Holding the knob a few seconds longer sometimes helps; if not, we clean or replace the sensor.

Often it stops once the igniters and switches dry out. Leave the burners off and let it dry for a while. Clicking that carries on after it has dried means we test the switches and the spark module.
