AGA Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with AGA and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the AGA warranty belongs with AGA first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How AGA builds its stoves
Owners tend to call their AGA a stove, and the calls usually concern the whole cooker: it has slowly lost heat, the gas flame seems unstable, there is soot or a smell, or an electric model is taking far longer to come up to temperature. On gas cookers, the burner, its flue draft and the thermostat that controls it work as a set, and a restricted flue or a dirty burner shows up as poor heat and soot. Electric cookers depend on elements and their controls. Because the cooker runs constantly, small problems grow slowly and are easy to overlook until cooking suffers.
Parts that tend to fail on AGA stoves
- Whole cooker running cooler than normal
- Gas burner sooting or unstable
- Weak flue draft
- Electric heating element failing
- Thermostat not controlling heat source
The general stove repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.
AGA Stove: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Soot or fumes can mean poor combustion or a flue problem. Turn the cooker off, ventilate the kitchen, and if you smell gas, leave and call the gas company. Once they've cleared it, the burner and flue need a proper inspection.
Many models have a lower setting, and newer controllable versions can switch sections off. How you do it depends on your model, so check the owner's manual. We can explain your cooker's controls while we're there.
