Whirlpool Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Whirlpool and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the Whirlpool warranty belongs with Whirlpool first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Whirlpool builds its stoves

The freestanding Whirlpool stove is found in older kitchens, rentals and basement apartments all over the area. Gas models have a hot-surface bake igniter and a separate broil burner on some models; the igniter is the most common failure. Electric models use coil or smooth-top surface elements with plug-in receptacles, and a burned receptacle is a frequent reason a coil burner stops working. Oven sensors, bake elements and the oven door hinges are the other common repairs. Many of these stoves are wired or plumbed with older connections, so we check the cord, the gas connector and the shutoff when we pull the stove out.

Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool stoves

  • Bake igniter too weak to open the valve
  • Coil element receptacle burned
  • Oven sensor out of range
  • Bake element failed
  • Oven door hinge broken

FAQ

Whirlpool Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Swap it with another burner of the same size. If the other burner works in that spot, the original burner is bad. If not, the receptacle or the switch is at fault. Burned receptacles are common and should be replaced along with the burner.

Usually. The hinges or the door gasket are worn or out of place. Both are replaceable, and fixing them helps the oven hold temperature.
