How JennAir builds its stoves
Most JennAir stoves are ranges: freestanding or slide-in, gas, electric or dual-fuel, and in older kitchens the downdraft models that made the brand's name. On a downdraft range the vent is in the cooktop, the blower sits inside the base, and the duct usually heads down through the floor, so pulling the range out means dealing with that duct connection as well as power and gas. Oven faults follow the fuel: igniters on gas, elements on electric, and sensors and control boards on both. Surface complaints follow the cooktop type. Whenever the unit moves, we check the anti-tip bracket and the gas connection before it goes back.
Parts that tend to fail on JennAir stoves
- Oven igniter weak
- Bake element burned out
- Downdraft blower failing
- Temperature sensor fault
- Surface burner igniter clicking

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Check the filter first, then the blower and the duct under the floor. Grease buildup in a long duct slows airflow even when the fan is healthy.
Yes, as long as parts are still available. We check the model number and tell you about parts before recommending a repair.
