KitchenAid Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with KitchenAid and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the KitchenAid warranty belongs with KitchenAid first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How KitchenAid builds its stoves

KitchenAid's freestanding ranges are the most basic of its cooking line, and they cover the familiar stove repairs. The oven on a gas model lights with a hot-surface igniter, and when the igniter weakens it glows without opening the valve. Surface burners depend on spark electrodes and switches. Electric versions have bake and broil elements, and radiant surface elements under glass. The oven temperature sensor can drift and make recipes fail. Before assuming a board problem, we check the outlet, the gas supply and the anti-tip bracket, because loose connections in older homes can cause intermittent faults.

Parts that tend to fail on KitchenAid stoves

  • Oven igniter too weak
  • Bake element burned out
  • Surface burner not sparking
  • Oven sensor drifting
  • Radiant surface element failed

FAQ

KitchenAid Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

A weak hot-surface igniter is the most common cause. It keeps glowing but can no longer pull the amperage the safety valve needs. We meter it and replace it if it's weak.

Yes, if the glass top is still available for your model. Replacing the top also means checking the elements underneath. We confirm the part before quoting.
